Skyline Farm, 95 The Lane, North Yarmouth, will hold its 20th annual Sleigh Day from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, in conjunction with Skyline Farm Carriage Museum’s new exhibit. Free admission. We have had to adjust some of the activities due to having slippery, icy conditions in the outdoor arena and no snow in the field. However, dress warmly and come see the lovely horse-drawn sleighs displayed inside the museum.

See invitational video here

We’ve canceled the driving demonstration in the arena; however, Donna Thurston with Phyllis and Maggie Dickey are bringing pony “Ben” to hold court in the parking lot where people can “Pat the Pony”, a favorite activity for this well-loved pony.

Starting at noon, Ben Lapointe and his pair of miniature horses will give mini WAGON rides for children up to age 12; $5 donation per child. An adult can accompany very young children for free.

Due to no snow in the field, John Sczymecki of Hideaway Farm, Topsham, will NOT be bringing his team of draft horses for sleigh rides. We are very disappointed that we can’t host this very popular activity on Saturday.

Hot refreshments will be sold in the heated Visitor Center. Menu includes chicken pot pie (limited supply), Hungarian Mushroom Soup, Chickpea and Lentil Soup (Vegetarian), and Stew.

Bring your snowshoes for a 2 p.m. guided tour of Skyline’s trails through the woods.

The museum exhibit, featuring a variety of rare sleighs and wheeled vehicles is also open Sundays, Feb. 10 through Mar. 31, from 1-4 p.m. or by appointment.
